Limited time drink “Kito Yuzu Butterfly Pea Soda” now available

The rainy season is coming up in the Kanto region soon. At Hasedera Temple in Kamakura, the hydrangeas are more than 50% in bloom and will soon be at their best, so the temple grounds are bustling every day.

A drink perfect for this season has just been released at the cafe in front of the temple!

“Kito Yuzu Butterfly Pea Soda”

This refreshing drink is a mix of fragrant, sour yuzu citrus grown in the Kito area of Naka town, Tokushima prefecture, and butterfly pea, a climbing plant of the legume family native to Southeast Asia that is characterized by its vivid blue color, combined with carbonation.

When butterfly pea is combined with an acidic substance, a chemical reaction occurs that turns it purple, making for a very photogenic drink.

If you visit Hasedera Temple, we hope you will take a photo with the hydrangeas and create a memorable memory.
